ROK BOGATAJ

Rok Bogataj was born in Ljubljana (Slovenia) in 1974. He graduated in 2002 at the Academy of fine Arts in Venice.
He composes archaeology of daily life through appropriation and associative thought processes that connect the everyday and the mythical using the materials that surround us in particularly plastic, wood and metal. He gives to these elements a new aesthetic present with reinvention of the modes of appearance and the creation of a work of art.
He is currently working on the traces, both as a form to investigate, and a proof of a more or less recent origin that we should remember.
His work is expressed through different mediums such as sculpture, photography, video, sound and drawing.
His work was presented in various solo and group exhibitions since 1997.
He lives and works in Ljubljana.
